Ministries are the lifeblood of a church because they allow us to meet the needs of those we come in contact with as we share the Good News of God's love for all people. By being involved in a variety of ministries, we are able to reach a larger number of people who need God's love. It is our hope that everyone who becomes a part of the church will find a place of service and allow the Lord to use them for His glory.
Serving one another and the world around us is the heart of missions. From building ramps, cleaning yards, providing food for our friends and neighbors to traveling to distant locales to share the Gospel and the love of the Lord through teaching, Bible studies, and a variety of ministries Great Marsh is involved and would love to have you involved with us.
Samaritan's Purse - Operation Christmas Child
Each year ahead of Christmas we collect items to fill shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. All ages get involved and some even bring boxes already packed with items they selected. Once we have the boxes ready we usually deliver them to a Samaritan's Purse warehouse for final processing before they're shipped to various countries
around the world.
Many churches today have a good number of seniors and Great Marsh is no exception. Our seniors are very involved in the church and its activities. They are a true blessing to us and we hope to bless them as well.
To show God's love to families that are hurting is another ministry that we have undertaken through the Angel Tree ministry. Over the years we have made some wonderful friends who continue to let us know of their thanks for our helping them through a tough time in their lives.
There are a number of members who volunteer on a regular basis to see that we are fulfilling the Lord's commission to love our neighbors as ourselves. Their willingness to serve others goes beyond what many often expect. We know that it is more blessed to give than to receive.
Learning the Word and applying it to our lives is essential for our growth as followers of Jesus. Our discussions on Wednesday evenings has kept us moving closer to Christ. Our times of prayer for members, friends, our community and world are also of benefits to our ministry to one another. Our pastor along with other qualified leaders help us in these areas.
